ScrobbleBar for macOS · Effective September 21, 2026
ScrobbleBar is a macOS menu bar app that helps you submit qualifying plays from Apple’s Music app to Last.fm. This policy explains what information ScrobbleBar uses and why.
Information ScrobbleBar accesses
After you grant macOS Automation permission, ScrobbleBar reads playback information from the Music app. This can include the track title, artist, album, duration, and playback timing. It uses this information only to determine whether a play qualifies and to prepare a scrobble.
Information stored on your Mac
ScrobbleBar keeps a local history of qualified listens and a local outbox for plays waiting to be sent. It also stores your connected Last.fm username and profile-image reference. You can disconnect your Last.fm account, pause scrobbling, or remove the app at any time.
Information sent to services
When you connect Last.fm or submit a scrobble, ScrobbleBar sends the required account and listening information to the ScrobbleBar service at scrobble.vicx.dev.br, which securely completes the Last.fm connection and submission. For a scrobble, this includes track title, artist, optional album, duration, start time, and an identifier used to avoid duplicate submissions. If you enable ScrobbleBar Pro’s Now Playing feature, current-track information is sent while music is playing.
ScrobbleBar uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to obtain a service authentication token. Last.fm session credentials are managed by the service and are not stored in plaintext by the app.
Analytics and advertising
ScrobbleBar does not include advertising, tracking pixels, behavioral advertising, or third-party marketing analytics SDKs.
Your choices
Music-app access is controlled in macOS System Settings. You can disconnect Last.fm in ScrobbleBar, pause or skip scrobbling, and contact us to ask privacy questions or request help with your account connection.
